Great way to spend the weekend...

So this is what I did all weekend. (Benjamin Ramsay Solis Birthday picture slideshow)

By myself. No kids. No husband. Just me. I got to welcome my nephew into the world and spend 3 amazing days with my sister and her family. Was happy to return home to 3 kiddos ready to see their mommy though!

CountDown

So I have been waiting for this day for months and am so excited it is finally here.  Tomorrow I get to meet my new nephew (if not before).  My sister is walking hills, cleaning like crazy to get him here before, but if he doesn't decide to show himself by 9 a.m tomorrow morning he will be forced to make his entrance.  I am sooo excited because I get to be there!  I am headed to KC tonight, my husband is manning the fort along with our 3 little indians and I couldn't be more thankful for that.  I was starting to wonder how I would be able to be there for her with having 3 little ones and 2 of them being in school.  My prayers were answered and people stepped up to help me out.   It will probably be the longest 4 hour drive tonight, but will be so worth it tomorrow when I get to be there when he comes into the world.
These are the shirts I had made for arrival day for the big brother, big sister, and new baby!  Love them!

Halloween-Here and Gone!

Oh how it felt like Halloween was months away just a few short weeks ago and now it is gone...for another year.  I really, really wanted to to a theme for the kiddos this year, but Abby had different plans.  Hence the Zebra with Dorothy and the scarecrow.  I really thought she would want to be Glinda, Shelby would be
Dorothy, and Eli the scarecrow.  I even bought Belle, the dog, a lions mane that ended up being a tad small for her.  I decided to let Abby have her Zebra this year, but next year it's theme time all around!

Busy (my excuse once again!)

So I've been busy.  Of course too busy to keep up with my blog, but not too busy to read other blogs...go figure!  Last Friday Abby was chosen as a Junior attendant for my hometown homecoming.  I was so proud and honored.  She LOVED every minute.  She idolizes a couple of the queen candidates!  We had the bonfire and practice on Thursday, the assembly, parade, and crowning at the football game on Friday, and the dance on Saturday.  I was exhausted!  She would have danced the night away with the high schoolers, but we cut her off after an hour.

This week we've had dance, playtime outside, and on Friday the girls are going with Grandma and Grandpa Ramsay to Wichita to meet cousin Mac and go to the Lion King musical.  They have been counting down the days.  I'm not sure what I'll do with just one kiddo at home (especially because he doesn't talk back and won't have anyone to fight with).  I'm thinking a shopping trip is in my near future! :)
Eli's new football shirt from a local crafter!  Love it!

Of course any girl needs a shirt with this saying!

Catch Up

Wow I took a hiatus from blogging now didn't I!  Summer has come and gone.  School has started.  Football Friday's are here.  Where does the time go????  We had a busy, full summer that went by WAY too fast!  We had birthdays, anniversary's, weddings, swimming, and our first real family vacation to Colorado Springs.  And how could I forget-I ran in my first 5K-the happiest 5K on the planet!  The Color Run!  It was a blast and I can't wait for the next one.

Abby started all day Kindergarten this year,

Shelby FINALLY started 2 day preschool (she was soooo excited)

and Eli left work with me for daycare.

My kiddos are growing up.  What we are now looking forward too: the holidays, the birth of our new nephew/cousin in November, more weddings, birthday's and of course a wonderful school year!

Run J-E-N-N-Y Run

So a couple weeks ago I saw a link for the Funnest looking 5K ever(is that really possible?)! Yes! and I decided I needed to sign up for it! So after stalking The Color Run page on facebook for over a week, I awoke on a Monday morning at 6am to get my team registered. The race isn't until June, but I seriously am so excited and can't quit watching this video:

So tonight started my Couch to 5K training for this amazingly, fun looking race! I'm sure there will be lots of pictures come June so stay tuned!

Melt My Heart

So today I had a morning photo shoot with 2 of the kiddos. It was for Eli's 10 month pics (1 day early because tomorrow will be CRAZY!). Shelby had to get in on a few of the pics and let me just say she loves her little brother and he loves her! I still can't believe my little guy is 10 months old. In a few short months we will be having his 1st birthday, which means the last, first birthday in our immediate family! Eli is on the move. Crawls everywhere and pulls up on things. Last night he had his first lip bang that caused more blood than I was comfortable with. Stopped pretty fast and no real damage noted! Thank goodness! I'm sure this will be the first of many for this little guy! He is an excellent eater, loves his bottle (this could be interesting in a couple of months), and loves to jibber jabber. He brings so much joy to my every day. Can't imagine our family without him.

Over The Rainbow

Today we celebrated Shelby's 3rd Birthday, Yes 3 YEARS OLD! Her birthday was actually on the 26th, but between weddings and traveling to KC for cousin Mac's birthday celebration, this is the only weekend we had to do anything. She chose to have a Wizard of Oz theme (after only seeing the movie for the first time on the day we picked the theme). She's been waiting 9 whole days for this party and I have to say I think it was a success! We made Rainbows with paper plates, played pin the heart on the Tin Man, opened presents, ate cake and ice cream, and now NAP TIME!

Like a Little Girl on Christmas

To say I am excited is an understatment! I am over the moon excited. We are getting a puppy!!!!! Being without a dog for the past 1 1/2 has been the longest I've been without a dog my enitre life. I check the classifieds daily for puppy ads. It just so happened last week I was looking at the Kansas city star on line and found an ad for Goldendoodles. This is the breed I have been looking at since loosing our Golden Retriever. Since AZ got a gun to get his concealed carrying license, he let me get a puppy. It's also an early birthday present. She will come to live with us in 10 short days. We have lots to get ready and are anxious to have her join our family. These are a couple pics that the breeder has sent me. Isn't she A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E!!!!!
